The August auto market saw plugin EVs at 22.4% share in France, down from 25.7% year on year. Volumes of both BEVs and PHEVs were down by over 33% YoY, declining more than the overall market drop. Overall auto volume was just 85,977 units, down 24.3% YoY, the weakest August since 2014, and far below 2016–2019 seasonal norms (~121,300). The Tesla Model Y was France’s best selling BEV in August.

Overall auto volume was 126,037 units, down by some 2% YoY. The Renault Megane took the lead in the BEV rankings. July’s market tally saw combined plugin EVs take 20.8% share in France, comprising 13.5% full battery-electrics (BEVs), and 7.3% plugin hybrids (PHEVs). These compare with YoY figures of 23.3% combined, with 13.1% BEV, and 10.3% PHEV.

June saw combined EVs at 24.1% share in France, with full battery electrics (BEVs) at 16.4% and plugin hybrids (PHEVs) at 7.7%. These compare with respective YoY figures of 26.9% combined, 17.4% BEV and 9.4% PHEV.

The Peugeot e-208 remained the bestselling full electric vehicle for the third consecutive month. March’s data tally saw combined plugin EVs take a 27.9% share in France, comprising 18.9% full battery-electrics (BEVs), with 9.0% plugin hybrids (PHEVs). France saw a new EV record high of 26.9% market share in June, up from 19.8% year on year. Full electrics grew from 12.8% to 17.4% share, while plugin hybrids grew from 7.0% to 9.4%. Overall auto volume was 190,847 units, up some 12% YoY, though still below long term norms, and with almost all the growth coming from plugins. The bestselling BEV in June was again the Tesla Model Y, just ahead of its sibling, the Tesla Model 3.

France saw plugin electric vehicles take 21.1% share of the auto market in April, flat year-on-year, in a growing overall market. Full battery electrics, however, grew share, whilst plugin hybrids dropped share. Overall auto volume was 132,509 units, up some 22% YoY, though still far below pre-2020 seasonal norms (~183,000). The bestselling plugin was the Dacia Spring. April’s combined plugin result of 21.1% comprised full battery electrics (BEVs) at 12.9%, and plugin hybrids (PHEVs) at 8.2%. These compare with respective YoY figures of 21.1%, 11.7%, and 9.4%. We can see that BEVs are still growing decently, whilst PHEVs are sliding.

Overall auto volume was 126,237 units, up over 9% YoY. The Dacia Spring was once again the best selling full electric. February’s combined plugin result of 23.8% comprised 15.5% full electrics (BEVs), and 8.3% plugin hybrids (PHEVs). These respective shares compare with 20.1%, 11.7%, and 8.4%, year on year. All the growth in share has come from BEVs.

January’s 22.3% combined plugin share comprised 13.1% full electrics (BEVs), and 9.2% plugin hybrids (PHEVs). These compare with respective shares of 17.6%, 9.9%, and 7.7%, a year ago.
