The goal of the joint battery cell program is to provide more affordable, next-generation EV batteries with best-in-class technologies to Stellantis and its joint venture gigafactories. The battery cell design program reinforces a 20-year dynamic collaboration with CEA. Other areas of joint research include disruptive chemistries and CO2 footprint research, battery modeling, fuel cell development, life cycle assessment and connectivity.

BYD, the world’s leading manufacturer of new energy vehicles, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Ayvens, a leading global sustainable mobility player. The MoU, formally agreed during a signing ceremony at BYD’s global headquarters in Shenzhen, China on 2nd July 2024, brings together the two high-profile brands to support the distribution of new energy passenger cars and light commercial vehicles, for corporate and retail customers in Europe.

Under the five-year contract, LG Energy Solution will provide LFP batteries to Ampere from late 2025 through 2030, with a total capacity of approximately 39GWh, enough amount to produce around 590,000 battery electric vehicles.

The new powertrain delivers 156 bhp (115 kW) and 270 Nm of torque for optimum driving pleasure. The 54 kWh high-voltage battery (51 useful kWh) provides a range of up to 410 km (WLTP combined cycle).

Test data show that in blade batteries with the same capacity, the 10-80% SOC average charging time of long blade battery is 26 minutes, with an average charging rate of 1.61C, with New Short Blade EV Battery Technology, the average time was 17 minutes 4 seconds with an average charging rate of 2.45C. In addition, in extreme cold environments, the New EV Battery Technology has strong discharge capacity and longer driving range than long blade batteries. In ambient temperatures of -30℃, the capacity retention rate of long blade battery on average fell to 78.96% while the New Short Blade EV Battery Technology retained 90.54% of its capacity.

Equipped with a 42 kWh battery as standard, INSTER is also available with a Long-Range 49 kWh battery as an option. Both models are powered by a single motor that delivers 71.1 kW (97 PS) in the base variant and 84.5 kW (115 PS) in the Long-Range car. Both versions offer 147 Nm of torque. With a segment-leading projected range of 355 km (WLTP)3 on a single charge for the Long-Range model, INSTER redefines what is possible from a small urban EV, delivering impressive flexibility with an estimated energy consumption of 15.3 kWh/100 km (WLTP)3.

Utilizing CATL’s L-series cells with an energy density of 430Wh/L, TENER boasts a 6.25 MWh capacity in a 20-foot container, enhancing energy density per unit area by 30% and reducing overall station footprint by 20%.

SVOLT develops Energy Storage Solutions (ESS) for various applications, such as energy buffering in solar or wind power installations where load peaks can occur. Additionally, SVOLT ESS are used wherever dynamic capacity expansion is required, such as charging stations for electric vehicles or energy supply in remote areas. SVOLT thus targets energy providers, industrial and commercial customers, as well as households. Besides developing its own ESS solutions, SVOLT also supplies third-party providers with highly innovative and efficient battery cells for their storage solutions.

Samsung’s battery-making arm plans to employ a two-track strategy that parallels and complements high-energy NCA batteries with LFP batteries for utility-scale ESS products to be deployed in 2026 and going forwards. On top of that, with the rise of artificial intelligence (AI) era stoking construction of new data centers, the battery maker vows to meet booming demand for uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems needed for those data centers.
