Škoda Auto has revealed the name of its battery-electric city SUV crossover, along with a design study showing a first glimpse of the new model. The Škoda Epiq, due to be unveiled in 2025, will cost around 25,000 euros. At 4.1 metres in length, it will feature a spacious interior and up to 490 litres of luggage capacity. The vehicle will fully incorporate the powerful, functional and authentic new Modern Solid design language – inside and out. This will be complemented by a flawless digital experience, with new technologies and assistance features.

Samsung SDI will exhibit a prismatic battery form factor where terminal is moved side-way in contrast to conventional top terminal, in order to enhance energy efficiency and cooling efficacy. Another eye-catching concept is cell-to-pack (CTP) technology for prismatic cells. At InterBattery 2024, SK On will also showcase the Winter Pro LFP Battery underscoring its low-temperature performances. Generally, a LFP battery suffers 50~70 percent drop in driving range it can offer at a low temperature (-20℃). However, compared to the existing conventional LFP, the Winter Pro LFP Battery extends the charging and discharging capacity by 16 percent and 10 percent, respectively, while increasing the energy density by 19 percent.

In the BEV segment, SVOLT introduced two Short Blade LFP fast chargie cells, namely L400 and L600, boasting capacities of 105Ah, 130Ah and 133Ah respectively, and supporting a charge rate of up to 4C. As per the plan, the L600 Short Blade fast charge cells will cater to 3C to 4C scenarios, with mass production set to start in Q3, 2024. On the other hand, the L400 offerings will address 4C and higher rate scenarios to meet demands of mainstream 800V high voltage vehicles, with mass production anticipated in Q4, 2024.
