The June auto market saw plugin EVs at 24.1% share in France, down from 26.9% year on year. Volume of both BEVs and PHEVs was down YoY, declining more than the overall market drop. Overall auto volume was 181,711 units, down 4.8% YoY, and far below 2016–2019 seasonal norms (~235,000). The Renault Megane was France’s best selling full electric vehicle in June. June saw combined EVs at 24.1% share in France, with full battery electrics (BEVs) at 16.

Customers in Germany who want to travel locally emissions-free can order the battery-electric Frontera Electric with a range of up to 305 kilometres (according to WLTP) for €28,990. As a “Long Range” version, the new Frontera Electric will be able to travel up to around 400 kilometres (WLTP) without stopping to charge.

The goal of the joint battery cell program is to provide more affordable, next-generation EV batteries with best-in-class technologies to Stellantis and its joint venture gigafactories. BYD, the world’s leading manufacturer of new energy vehicles, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Ayvens, a leading global sustainable mobility player. The MoU, formally agreed during a signing ceremony at BYD’s global headquarters in Shenzhen, China on 2nd July 2024, brings together the two high-profile brands to support the distribution of new energy passenger cars and light commercial vehicles, for corporate and retail customers in Europe.

The small BYD Seagull, or as it’s known in South America, BYD Dolphin Mini, debuted with 4 seats, however in Colombia it now gets 5 seats instead. BYD Colombia’s technical documents now show the BYD Dolphin Mini only available with 5 seats. However, we still don’t know if the 4 and 5 seat versions will be sold side-by-side in other markets. Brazil will soon also get this 5 seat version - that has been long awaited by brazilian potential customers.

Under the five-year contract, LG Energy Solution will provide LFP batteries to Ampere from late 2025 through 2030, with a total capacity of approximately 39GWh, enough amount to produce around 590,000 battery electric vehicles.

The new powertrain delivers 156 bhp (115 kW) and 270 Nm of torque for optimum driving pleasure. The 54 kWh high-voltage battery (51 useful kWh) provides a range of up to 410 km (WLTP combined cycle).

In addition to the systems that have long been required by law, new cars registered from July onwards must also have additional assistants on board. These include emergency braking assistant, intelligent speed assistant, lane departure warning system, reversing assistant and drowsiness detection. An emergency brake light and a “black box” data recorder are also among the mandatory features in the future.

Outputs from 125 kW to 220 kW as well as a range of more than 560 km (WLTP) and charging time below 28 minutes also make it a perfect companion for long-distance journeys. The introduction of the Škoda Elroq marks the beginning of Škoda’s new BEV campaign, which will see the launch of six battery-electric models over the coming years.

Equipped with a 42 kWh battery as standard, INSTER is also available with a Long-Range 49 kWh battery as an option.
