ElevenEs drives the future of electric mobility in Europe with the new Edge574 blade cell
he Integration Innovation – The Edge574 Blade Cell demonstrates exceptional adaptability through its optimized design for both cell-to-pack (CTP) and cell-to-body (CTB) integration. This design flexibility maximizes space utilization within the vehicle, leading to increased energy density at the pack level and ultimately contributing to greater driving range, all while achieving impressive gravimetric and volumetric densities of 190 Wh/kg and 420 Wh/l at cell level.
GM and LG Energy Solution to pioneer LMR battery cell technology
GM and LG Energy Solution to pioneer LMR battery cell technology
Battery engineers at GM and LG Energy Solution have developed a new LMR prismatic battery cell that unlocks 33% higher energy density compared to the best-performing lithium iron phosphate (LFP) based cells – at a comparable cost.
Why LMR batteries will change the outlook for the EV market
Why LMR batteries will change the outlook for the EV market
The composition of LMR cells is much different – around 35% nickel, 65% manganese, and virtually no cobalt. Here’s why that matters: manganese is cheaper and more plentiful than either nickel or cobalt. The material in these cells is much less expensive. The chemistry also lends itself well to larger cell sizes, which further reduces system cost, with fewer connective and structural elements in a battery pack.

LG Energy Solution showcases ESS Leadership at EES Europe 2025 in Munich
At this year’s ees Europe exhibition, LG Energy Solution is introducing its next-generation grid-scale LFP ESS product – a highly integrated DC System built into a 20-foot container and made entirely in Europe, from cell to system. The solution applies the JF2S cell produced at LG Energy solution’s Wroclaw facility, offering 2.7-times more energy compared to the previous JF1 cell, along with an ultra-long lifespan of up to 15,000 cycles.

The one millionth electric vehicle rolls off the production line at the Volkswagen plant in Zwickau
In 2024, 204,000 vehicles were produced in Zwickau. Since Volkswagen took over the site in 1990, more than seven million vehicles have left the factory halls. With the start of production of electric vehicles, Zwickau took on a key role in the Volkswagen Group: For the first time, a large car factory was completely converted to electric mobility at a cost of 1.2 billion euros. The bodies for the Bentley Bentayga and the Lamborghini Urus are also manufactured in Zwickau.
Rethinking the way we perceive, design and use electric LCVs with Renault Trafic, Goelette and Estafette
Rethinking the way we perceive, design and use electric LCVs with Renault Trafic, Goelette and Estafette
For business users working primarily in urban areas, the standard range battery uses LFP (lithium Iron phosphate) technology, free of rare metals such as cobalt and nickel for a competitive offer in terms of price and autonomy, with nearly 350 km WLTP (on Trafic), which meets the needs of many professionals. Alongside their comfortable and versatile range, the batteries also gain the new 800V fast-charging technology, making everyday organisation easier for business users. A first for Renault vehicles!

Naxtra battery breakthrough & dual-power architecture: CATL pioneers the multi-power era
CATL’s Naxtra passenger EV Battery achieves an energy density of 175Wh/kg, the highest among sodium-ion batteries worldwide, and comparable to LFP batteries. It offers a 500-kilometer range and can achieve over 10,000 cycles, which significantly reduces maintenance costs. In terms of safety, the Naxtra Battery eliminates combustion-supporting factors at the material level, thus achieving a transformative breakthrough from “passive defense” to “intrinsic safety”.
