In Norway, the Volkswagen e-Golf is trying to get its EV crown back, but it won’t be easy due to the current popularity of the new Nissan Leaf. Nonetheless, Volkswagen almost did it last month.
It’s curious that in Norway, the two best selling electric cars don’t have a TMS (Thermal Management System). The cold climate alone will keep the batteries well preserved.
Let’s see the top 5 in Norway in May:
- Nissan Leaf: 644
- Volkswagen e-Golf: 622
- BMW i3: 407
- Tesla Model S: 272
- Tesla Model X: 247
Anyway, considering that the Hyundai Kona Electric and Hyundai IONIQ Electric will have their production very restricted, Nissan and Volkswagen will fight alone for the EV crown during this year. Next year, with the arrival of the Tesla Model 3 it’ll be a completely different story. Nonetheless, later this year the BMW i3 will get a range boost, which itself will make things a bit more interesting.
