The Volkswagen e-Golf was always very successful in Norway and sometimesย itย even surpassed the registration numbers of the ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) version – Volkswagen Golf. However, with the introduction of new electric cars with more range, the Volkswagen e-Golf lost its leadership.

Anyways, theย leadership that was lost last year is now regained with 467 units registered in Norway last month, while the second most sold electric car, the BMW i3 had 419 units registered. The main reason behind this comeback, is the arrival of a much better 2017 Volkswagen e-Golf, improved with more range, more powerful motor, more safety features and other goodies.

If the 2017 Volkswagen e-Golf isn’t stopped by strange production problems, similar to what the Renault Zoe is now facing, it won’t be easy for other electric car models to take the leadership from it. While it’s too soon for any conclusions, it seems that the Volkswagen e-Golf will also be the best selling electric car this month in Norwayย by a large margin.

With only two daysย into the month, already 74 units were registered, while the second best result is achievedย by the Opel Ampera-e with only 36 units. The Volkswagen e-Golf had its sales record month in March, 2015 withย 956 units registered in Norway. Can the new Volkswagen e-Golfย beat this old record already this month? I wouldn’t bet against it.

My interest in electric transportation is mostly political. Iโ€™m tired of coups and wars for oil. My expectation is that the adoption of electric transportation will be a factor for peace and democracy all over the world.

From what I’ve gathered the e-Golfs produced in Dresden that were held back for QA have just begun deliveries. June will be interesting for sure!

Definitely. Even more interesting since it’s the end of the second quarter.

I drive a 2017 eGolf , what a fantastic vehicle. If I was to say only 1 word about this car I would chose balance(as in equilibrium) Before choosing the eGolf I drove : Fisker, Coda, Tesla , eBox , Mini-E, Leaf, BMW I8, i3, Bolt, Volt, and other e-machines. This one won my heart. Next, maybe a Porsche Mission E.
