2017 Ford Focus Electric is almost here

2017 Ford Focus Electric

With first deliveries starting later this month, Ford decided to make an unusually very informative video about their electric car. Today most ads are about emotions, so it’s nice to see one which is actually informative.

It’ll be interesting to see three electric cars with similar range going head-to-head this year. I’m referring to the 2017 Ford Focus Electric, 2017 Volkswagen e-Golf and 2017 Hyundai IONIQ Electric. If we want the best value for the money, Hyundai’s electric car seems to be the best choice, however we’ll have to wait and see if the automaker will advertise it correctly and make it widely available.

While Ford isn’t very happy to sell electric cars, the automaker from time to time offers nice discounts which make the Ford Focus Electric one of the cheapest electric car in the USA. However, until now the same can’t be said about Europe, where the Ford Focus Electric was always an overpriced electric car that’s very hard to find at dealerships. This is a shame since the ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) variants of the Ford Focus are very popular in some European countries, it would be nice to see Ford actually trying to sell the electric version in this continent.

My interest in electric transportation is mostly political. I’m tired of coups and wars for oil. My expectation is that the adoption of electric transportation will be a factor for peace and democracy all over the world.

As always it’s just a compliance car… there’s no interest at all to sell it outside the US and specially outside California …
